Hi all, bought a Ducati M600 earlier in the week :D Don't know much about them and still going over it but am pretty impressed so far, it's not a particularly fast bike but a great involved riding experience and an excellent quality machine. Changed the oil & filter so far, home tuned the carbs :look: as it was a bit slow on throttle response (still is, might be how they are, no experience of these) and going through the receipts it had cambelts done at 8000 miles, now sits at 11000. Here's a couple of pics in the garage, not the best, will try and grab a couple outdoors but it's super clean & I love it :)

Congrats on the bike looks great.
Even though the belts have only done 3000 miles how long have they been on the bike?
2 years or more and they need to be changed. A change of gearing is a cheap way to improve your acceleration.

Enjoy.

Thanks for the welcome. Had a look at the receipt, work was done November 2008, might be worth getting them done again then?

Lowering the gearing sounds a plan, it has a hugely long 1st gear! Is it generally a gearbox sprocket change or rear wheel sprocket? I'll check what's on.

looks nice. As above plan to change the belts soon. Not hugely expensive, and there are videos online if you want to try yourself.

Think standard sprocket is 15 tooth on the front (?) and I dropped one on mine. Remember reading 1 tooth on front is roughly equivalent 3 on the back. Lower on the front will have a bigger effect with least effect on chain tension and length
