Oil Leak

I have noticed a slight trickle of oil from one of the bolts on the right side of the engine at the top (as you sit on the bike) Is this a matter of just tightening or could something more sinister be going on? is this a common thing or could it be a gasket?
Any thoughts appreciated.

it sounds like a probable leak from the cam shaft cap

both my 800 and 1000 have done this, only real fix it to replace the gasket

while this is fixable if your techie, its not the simplest job especially on the 800 as this uses paper gaskets where as the 1000 has rubber o rings.

in the servce manual it says you need to take the belts off to remove this cap but in practice it can be done without but bear in mind the cam will be uner load that can make the cape removal/replacnet a bit fiddly
