Rear Tyre size?

Has anyone fitted a 180/55/17 rear tyre to a 2002 monster 600?
Does it fit?
Is it worth it?
Is it too fat?
I have been given one for free that's in great nick! any advise greatly received!

If you have a 4.5" rear wheel then it won't fit properly, you need a 5.5" for a 180.

And it will feel terrible if not matched to the front which would normally be a 120/60 - 17

Yep.. you need to fit the rear wheel off a 900
