I have got my hands on the damper rods and cartridges from Showa 748 front forks they are much better quality with full rebound rods to the cartridge unlike the ones in my S4 which are cheap and nasty with no rebound circuit at all but will they fit ???????

No but yes! the ally top tubes are to short I fitted some to my monster by useing ss top tubes they are about 30mm longer.
