Alan, I think Shuffy's talking about the aborted run to Broadstairs.

STAY ON THE A229 !

Forget google map and stuff, the entrance is from the SHELL Petrol station on the A229.

Shuffy
07-07-2011, 12:31 PM
I'll second that! Don't use the postcode in your satnav, unless you want to go up and down the A229 all day. As J.P says, turn off at the Shell station.

Thanks for a great day guys. Wasn't particularly feeling well this morning but once away I was enjoying it. Nice company again and some nice roads but no doubt I rode too slow for you. My bike feels much better since mallory adjustments in the suspension department.

Great choice of ice cream venue and I told Caroline I had a strawberry sundae.:thumbsup: Very nice it was too. Hope the views were better going home than on way in. Shoppers really make your day don't they :twak:

I disasterously took some pics but they look sh1te due to me having set on sports mode so poor colour and flared out. :twak:

Hope we can pop in sometime to that museum I stopped at on way back.

Thanks guys.

Wow what a great day! After a rotten week at work, this was just what the doctor ordered (UKMOC should be on prescription). We didn't ride very far or very fast (not that I do anyway) but it was just one of those really nice days, where the weather was kind to us, the roads weren't too busy (well apart from Canterbury) and the great British seaside looked at it's brilliant best. Morrelli's in Broadstairs is a fab place for a that genuine Italian 50's coffee bar experience and the ice creams are fun too. As ever gentlemen, brilliant company, always a great laugh. Thanks to Alan for leading down and Albie leading back and yes lets make a special trip to the RAF museum. I'd forgotten how nice that part of Kent can be. Thanks again guys.

I have spent many years working around the North Kent area in my engineers role and when I was roof tiling in my 20's. Sadly I could take you on a mystery tour of some fantastic roofs but you wouldn't be impressed with the gables, ridges and the special eyebrow's.
I love that part of Kent but I really do hate the boring roads there. I wanted to divert via Sturry and he windmill @Sarre but wold have been too long for you guy's getting back. There are also some nice riverside pubs around there too. I think we need to have a run like the Wiltshires did that involve a drink and lunch stop sometime. Just a ploughmans will do for me. I actually fancied a cream tea on way back too. Hungry fecker I am.

That white lambo was nice on M2 dont you think ?

Great pics btw as per usual Chris.

Gary did you too hot with all your layers on ? Its july you know :)

Mystery tour to nice pubs and cream teas....??? How top would that be?? Yes please Albs!

White Lambo looked expensive but clearly not a cool as five Monsters in convoy. Anyway mate, I think your Mr Ben Bike looked better, I like this weeks look!

A wonderful relaxing day out.
The weather was just about perfect for riding to the sea side.
Fantastic sundaes in a relaxed atmosphere with good company is always a treat.
Let's hope the summer rolls on and on.

looks like you had a great day. sorry i did not get a chance to meet up with you due to playing paintball with the boys. I ache all over due to all the running and crouching behind stuff and got a few bruises due to being shot from 6ft away by a nutter on the other team.(hurts a lot from that range)

You should be able to initially see the lot in small thumbnails.
Bottom left gives you view options, Grid, Mosaic, Carousel, or you can just click on a thumbnail to see full size and then just use left and right arrows at bottom of page
