S4RS Standard cans...

Just heard otherwise today on this funk. Iv managed to source a brand new pair of S4RS stock end cans including the link pipes.

Can anyone confirm if the link pipes from the S4rs will fit into the S2R cat, meaning a straight removal of the s2r cans and link pipes, replaced by the s4rs cans and links ?

Seller has put them on hold for me until confirmation.

I'm not sure they're a straight fit though I could be getting mixed up with other small differences between the SR models. S2R and S4R cans and link pipes are identical.

Ask the seller to measure the diameter as this may be whats different with the S4RS, whether thats just the headers though I just cant remember, and ask for the number stamped on the endcans, (probably made by Remus) and I'll check them against mine if you want.

the cat from an s4rs wont fit but the the set of cans and link pipes i have from an 998 s4rs (with carbon heatshield etc) fit fine from the cat on

they may have changed the design tho being ducati so your milage may vary, but mine fit for sure 100%

some s2r and s4r cans are made by termignoni to the same spec as the remus cans

Ok, my S2R is an 08 spec, the s4rs cans/links are 2005 so should be ok, although il give ducati a quick bell tomorrow. I just wasnt sure whether the link pipes were of wider diameter than the S2R's.

you are right im wrong

just looked at another bike and the S4RS has 50mm pipe work which is a bit bigger

s4r 996 (2004-2006) pipes and cans will fit the s2r though 110%

Yep your right funk, called ducati today and told me they wont fit, gutted as they were brand new. Oh well back to the drawing board.

i was told mine were from an s4rs and as they had the carbon shield and heel gaurds i took that on face value

i your bike still out of action without them?
maybe you could get a shim/spacer made up that fits over the end of the pipes out of the cat to get them to fit

Funk its not an issue fella, i always get more than just a couple of opinions before i buy anything. No bike is running fine, just got scuffed cans bringing the appearance down a bit.
