Checking Front Wheel Bearings

Is there a way to check the front bearings without a paddock stand?

Only by pivoting on side stand which takes 2 people and NOT advisory as you could snap the stand or the engine case. MOT staions used to do this. Most have paddock stands nowadays. If not they should.

Ok will get it done at the shop, just wanted to check if there was another way to do it myself. I should really get a stand at some point!
