I wonder what its like at Folkstone. Always found it rather unexciting. We was actually talking about Broadstairs yesterday if you fancy that. Hastings is ok though. Unless we want to redo the Brighton run via John Henrys @ Findon

how about meet at Ashford, ride to Rye (popular sunday bike meet) and then onto Hastings for chips at the seaside?

Whatever is decided is good for me, would be good to meet you all.

J.P

Would prefer to stay away from a big town like Hastings, just gonna be traffic and busy even on a bike.
Rye's a good idea, There's a very good look you can take from just outside of Rye into the Marshes, then back to Rye, or maybe come back Eastward through to Dymchurch.

We've already done Rye Harbour loads on UKMOC rideouts, and there's not much on offer there to be honest. There must be other places to visit on the SE coast.. any other suggestions?

Albie
06-06-2011, 03:24 PM
So do we want to meet at Mickeys Diner or Ashford or maybe the Tuck Inn just past Rainham on the old A2 at Hartlip Hill

http://www.qype.co.uk/place/253182-The-Tuck-Inn-Rainham.

I say this as I dont know if you want to hack all the way down motorways to Ashford or stay on the side that goes to Thanet.
Either way I dont mind but I used to use it often for brekkies and lunch and is popular.

gary tompkins

Don't mind Albie - not keen on doing much M-way riding though

Ah for Gods sake I've got a late night thing I've got to go to for work.

Next time, next time. Besides I would have to asked someone to go with me. Partly for confidence and partly because I'm one those "youths" that have spent most of their driving life using sat navs for any journey outside their own town.

The BBC were showing a very large cloud coming Kent's way on Sunday. In which case I'll also be in the car.

Will we be sticking with the same venue if the weather stops us riding ?

gary tompkins
10-06-2011, 10:51 AM
Maybe Micky's if it's crappy - I'm not up for wasting diesel at £1.38L driving round kent in the car

Albie

J.P
10-06-2011, 04:14 PM
Mikey's is a 62 mile round trip for me,
that's about £9 in fuel.
Tea = £1
Bacon & Egg sandwich = £3.5

Breakfast with friends = priceless.

lt is already spitting here.
I will give it a miss.
I just spent 4 hours fiddling and cleaning her.
It would be nice to keep her clean for more than a day...

Cloudy but dry this way. Thinking of taking the bike. What's the weather like your side of Kent ?

Gadget
12-06-2011, 08:02 AM
The forecast is set for wetter weather on the way.
It is grey, spitting with a cool and gentle southerly breeze.
If it was to stay like this it would be a good ride.
But it won't.

12-06-2011, 08:08 AM
Ok we had decided to take the Italian car instead. My bike is also cleaned ready for modified and sale so no point getting it wet.
See you peeps at the tuck inn

Nice turn out at a new venue for you guys. Sorry about the busy queue but at least its clean and food was decent. Been here for years and always popular with everybody for breakfast and dinners. Shame the weather spoilt the good intention of a rideout but thats just tough. Im working next weekend too which is a shame as fathers day and last chance before modified live. Glad to meet up anyhow and good to see folks.

Great to see everyone today, good banter as always (unless you like cheese that is). Good new venue with top food. Shame the weather didn't hold, but at least we all got back to watch the Moto GP.

You will have to check the new batch mate.

Great race if somewhat dissapointing with simoncelli :on:. Stoner was brilliant I have to say. Great rider.

Good call on cancelling the Broadstairs run. Drizzled all the way home and been pissing down here since. Nice cafe with good food and fast service. It'll make a good alternative to Micky's diner. Noticed the exhaust blowing a bit on the way back - discovered the Buell's downpipe has cracked nearly all the way round.

I would have used two wheels but had already decided not to do a bike run to coast. Takes me longer to get geared up and fill up than to jump in car for 10 miles.
I presumed that you was driving too as your bike doesn't run on diesel at 138.9p/L :biggrin:
Anyway glad you wern't dissappointed with cafe

I do prefer the grub at Mickeys but I dont like going down and then up and then up and back to where we have to go. I will keep it as a nice place to pop in on the way somewhere. Food was fine and the time was early. 11.00 and the queue was gone to nothing.
