Been to see a bike that the owner claims has a slipper clutch
It looks like a dp pressure plate but is there any way to tell if it's a dp slipper without taking it apart?

U Busted me bex :o

--- possibly S4r 998= utterly Bankrupt!!!

Not sure though saw it last night and it looks Very tidy 8k, Rizoma open clutch cover nice red dp pressure plate( possibly slipper) and termi slip ons with but alarm bells are ringing for some reason. The seller doesn't seem to know what he's got ( he said it had a powercommander and I can't find it. Said it has a slipper could be just a plate) and service history is limited although from the service book it looks like it was a snells demo bike up to 324 miles. And all service work has be done annually by either snells or pro twins.

796 is going even though i love it. As it's a current model I know I can buy another good one in future if I like it or more likely an it will be an 1100

if in doubt, dont. You're alarm bells are probably ringing for a reason. If you're really keen, ask the own if you take it to RC or somewhere for a lookover if you leave them some dough. If they say no, then run as fast as fast you can (like the backwards man, just forwards)

step 1: You gotta consider yourself completely powerless under me.
step 2: You gotta figure that's gotta be jelly, 'cause jam just don't shake like that
step 3: Make a searchin' inventory of all your good ****.
Step 4: Inventory taken, hand it all willingly over to me.
Step 5: Get down on your knees.
Step 6: Humbly ask me to remove your...

okay, enough of the 12 step plan, I'll put a post in the London section.

It does look very neat in the pictures though.
As Funk said to me, it could be a potential replacement for mine. :)

its tidy mate go see it,
few small rubs on the top of the tank but reckon they will polish out easily enough

its very clean, by the looks of some of the fasteners and rear shock it has seen some salt but not much for a bike of this age (my 800 is alot worse and same age and the 1000 looks very similar and thats a 4000 mile bike that never saw rain before i got it)

seems to run very well but never got out of 2nd around his car park tbh

I'm not sure scraping it along the pit wall at Spa-Francourchamps helped its looks

youre not wrong

neither did dropping it in the gravel at Portimao last year

still love my little 800 tho, been hacking about on it a lot in the last week and its a really great bike

looking really good with the clip ons, once i put the clean tank on it, apart from a few stone chips in the frame it looks good considering all the abuse its taken

thinking about what it might cost to revalve my forks
