My favourite standard monster....looking very nice indeed......very, very, very nice indeed.
I'm trying hard not to be jealous.....and not particularly succeeding.
Just needs a can, perhaps..??

Don't worry utopia the can has been ordered, as has a tail tidy and one or two other bits and pieces.

The Evo1100 is the first modernised monster that i would desire to purchase if i had the cash but it would be red. my only criticism is that ducati s still make the front end too harsh as standard , cant they get showa /sachs to valve them decently like triumph do???

singletrack

The front end is a little harsh Jerry - but it is supposed to be adjustable, so I shall have to see just HOW adjustable it really is.

Yep I like it absolutely. Got real competition here :eek::eek:

I really like the black/grey combination. So much that I am hoping to test ride one later this week. Kevin Ash liked it: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/motorcycle_manufacturers/ducati/8532823/Ducati-Monster-1100-Evo-review.html

Beautiful machine!

I'd be interested to know if the rearsets will fit on a 2009/10, a cheaper option than the Rizoma's....possibly!?

Nice one!

With the exception of Bex's slightly modded 796, that black 1100 Evo is my favourite modern monster - IMO, far better looking than the stock 1100S, which just looks gay.

I'm green with envy.

I am not sure if the rearsets will fit - my guess is no, which is a shame because I would love some Rizomas and then you could buy my standard ones :chuckle:
If I find out I will let you know.

Intitially I didn't like the new routing of the exhaust copying the Diavel, but it is growing on me. I really like that frame colour with the black, a great looking bike you have there.

I would stick my neck out and say yes but you will not be able to take a pillion. They use all the same bolt fixings. I even reckon the s4r ones may. They probably are them anyhow. No bolt on pillion pegs. Stock only. I did look at buying a set of them in rizoma as they are £200 cheaper than 1100 ones.
I was lucky and got them for £250 but I paid £190 for pillion pegs.

The pillion thing would be a problem, not that it my wife gets the opportunity to come out with me very often, but it needs to be an option...I shall have to swing by the dealer and have a look how the pillion pegs are attached on the evo frame and if anything could be fabricated.

I have no doubt you could rig something up. It really depends on how much work at what cost. I dont understand why ducati once again designed the new bike with footrests like the old style bikes. They know how successful the sR series was and the owners removing rears if solo. It makes so much sense to make independant in my book anyhow. Mine unbolt with 2 8mm capheads. They use the rear engine bolt as a fixing point. They supplied a new bolt with drilled and tapped ends. The other bolt attaches to rearset.

I think they are almost identical other than cosmetic colour /shape to sR series. Like I said sR are cheaper to buy than M1100. But you would have to check first.

Look at the good price for standard dual side ones.

M1100 are now cheaper pillion £50 less than I paid

Thanks for posting up the photo Singletrack and the info' Albie. I think at the moment I shall stick with my original plan, which is just to take the existing 'chicken wings' off and get them powder coated in the same black metallic finish as the rear subframe. Everything needs to be done on a tight budget unfortunately:thumbsup:

Well my EVO has now had most of its new bits added
tail tidy
new reg no
mirrors
exhaust
bar ends
lots of carbon bits

Still waiting for Rizoma rearsets which are on order ( there is now a new set for the EVO) and 14 t sprocket, and levers

It also has a new stable mate to keep it company - Andy swapped his 1200GS for one of these.

It seems to run much smoother after its first service. I am assuming it is because of the Termis and new ECU
Beware though it is VERY loud without baffles - I am running it with the baffles in.

Very nice Anne. Love the exhausts:thumbsup::twak::twak::D:D

I also like my mirrors too strangely. Not seen any that float my boat. Probably because all mirrors are a pain on a bike. They either look bad and are good view or look good and a bad view.

I am really pleased with the look - I will just have to see how I get on without the screen.

I wasn't too bothered about replacing the mirrors but when i saw the DP ones I thought they would look good, and now I prefer them to the original ones.

Anne that screen does nothing. I have had mine off for 3 weeks and the first time was the track day.Ok so wasn't doing long stints but was doing over 100 down the straight. Its pure cosmetic and thats it. Its kind of cute but really does nothing. If I want it back on then its a few bolts but I think the bike looks more aggresive without it.

No more than most bikes. The vertical/rear is always behind the frame and the exhaust would be cool. Im sure Ducati made it easy enough for their engineers. I had mine done the other week and it took no longer than any other ducati.

Sorry to be a bit slow catching up, but that is looking great Anne! The Termi's look excellent and the overall look is stunning. Love the gloss black - never did like the semi-matt 'dark' paint. Proper gloss!

Those cans are magnificent. I've always been a sucker for a nice set of twin cans, ever since the RGV Suzuki. Did you get them from your local Ducati dealer ? Did they cost an arm and a leg or just the arm ?
First mod on my 1100EVO today - red anodised Ducati bar ends. Very tasty result for small cost.

That looks lovely .......Mmmmmmmmmmm
I've done over 10000 miles in just over a year on my M1100 and will try an Evo out to see if that 5hp makes a difference! Just got back from a trip to Spain and I couldn't have wanted a better bike for the twisty mountain roads, smooth tarmac, exhausts booming in the gorges. Ah, nice to be home though
Your Evo looks great, especially with those cans fitted. :yoparty:

Here are some pics of my Evo.
I've fitted Oberon mirrors and levers. I've smoked the flyscreen, had the Termi's fitted, LED indicators and a Ducati tail tidy.
All in all I'm really pleased with the bike, my first Duke, my first V (L?) twin, and I'm sure I'll be keeping it for a fair while!

If money were no object I would have a stonking bike but alas the mods are gradual from now on.
Mirrors when I bust mine
