I've ordered the performance filter, got the open lid and I'm already running open cans WITH the cat. Will the mixture need to be adjusted using that mathesis thing or can I just fit it and go?

Fit it and go and see how it runs. If there are any problems, or at a later date get the mixture checked.

That's what I'll do I think, I recently had it checked when they set the idle and did a service and they said it was running good. Once I get the filter I'll fit it and see how it goes

give west london superbikes a call
i think they are still doing a free single dyno run for ducati owners
would at least tell you if the mixture is badly out

if thats not an option, suck it and see. check the plugs regularly as this should tell you what the mixture is up to

my 800 runs like pig with open airbox, stock cans and decat without adjustment (but its still rideable)

mathesis adjustmnet will only go so far, also might need the TPS resetting too

best option is a PCIII and a set of dyno runs or get the exsting ecu remapped

btw, interested in a carbon arrows full system?

Thanks for the heads up Funk I'll check it out. I'd rather have a proper set up done once I've got the decat as well

As for the arrows no thanks I like the Termi's, thanks for the offer :D

I ran it today and it seems to run OK but I'll have to have a think if I want to leave it open because it's made the bike fooking loud!! when I come to adding a decat pipe there'll be an earthquake :chuckle:

get some ear plugs

but watch it as your likely to be running lean with open airbox

Don't like ear plugs for some reason :chuckle:

I'm going to try it closed with the K&N filter and see how it runs (made it run better on my 620)

i've got the TPO beast intakes with termi cans - there are massive flat spots and lurches when you open up hard. The fuel/air defo needs tweaking - oddly, getting done today at Rosso Corsa...

i had the open airbox before and after tweaking, it was much much better.

I'll probably run it closed with the K&N at the moment then when I get a decat I'll put the open lid back on and have it set up properly

Was there much difference between the TPO set up and the open lid? (performance/sound wise)

massive difference - very much louder. if you get the decat, you won't need to fiddle with fuel/air. the sensor is installed before the cat so it doesn't influence the mixture.

oh yar, performance - much more bottom end torque and it seems to pull much harder for longer, can't really tell though as i haven't driven it with correct fuel/air. Will let you know today after i pick it up!

sound wise, its weird but in a good way. its loud, but the sound comes from the engine, not the exhaust - like a deep brrrrrrump... i bought it mostly for the sound, but performance is great too

Just FYI: I ran my 620 with a open airbox and straight through cans and it was terrible, lean with flat spots all over the place etc etc, however since fitting the performance ecu and setting tps/ adjusting trim she runs like a champ with the open box and cans - no flat spots and better throttle response thoughout - and she sounds like a duc should!

Yeah my 620 was the same but the S2R runs okay, gonna try closed lid and k&n at the weekend. The 620 ran perfect like that

Sburrows how much/where did you get the ecu?

keep an eye out for a powercommander on ebay

any of the 2V monster PCIII's will work

Hi mate got the ecu from another member on here aling with the filter and airbox lid for £120 which i thought was a great price

Was it an unused ECU? Because I read that you can't use it if it's already been paired with the clocks. Bargain though!

It was used yes, but performance ECU's are not paired to a bike unless a red key is used on them
