Annoying me now! :chuckle:

Not only because it's massive but mine isn't in the best of condition either sooo...

Option 1 - chop!
Option 2 - Expensive http://cgi.ebay.it/TEGOLINO-FRECCIA-PER-DUCATI-MONSTER-REAR-TAIL-DUCATI-/370494032082

Option 1 can be done soonish but option 2 would have to wait a while so what do you think? :D

:chuckle:

It can only be option no.1 :)

Option 1 I want to see what it looks like, but I admit it now I don't have the balls to do it so it would be option 2 for me.

You go first! :chuckle:

On my 620 I had the carbon version of option 2 but £100 odd is a lot of money! For that I could get a tinted screen, tail light and some mirrors

Option 2 is what my bike has, I wasn't sure what the make was as I've not seen one before like this, I like it better than a full tail chop and especailly with the LED indicators:)

I'm still toying with a tail-chop myself and I have the above except in carbon, so if I opt for a chop do you fancy it rac3r? was looking for £60 (the bracketry is powder coated matt black also)

Would option 2 fit 93 frame?

sburrows87
19-05-2011, 10:19 PM
No, I don't believe it will as it has 4 mounting holes instead of the 3 used on earlier bikes

According to the description on the ebay listing it will fit Monsters with 3 or 4 hole from 2000 onwards.

You dont need balls for this job, a hack saw will do it no problem.

cut it off.... but not if you want to commute

It's fine, you only need to wipe the mud off your jacket every couple of days! :D

3rd option, I seem to remember there was a company called mad doctor that did a very interesting replacement with new taillight+indicators, you could use with/without doing a tail chop. Last time I looked it was VERY overpriced though

...just looked it up and it still is, especially if you want carbon :eyepopping:
http://www.carpimoto.it/EN/27588_MDC569-Mad-Doctor-seat-transformation-kit-for-Ducati-Monster-choose-your-model.htm

Probably not a good option then, but there might be a 2nd hand one around somewhere

Hmm not too keen on that one. The thing with the tail chop is...I have a black and white textile jacket so it probably won't clean too easily :chuckle:

Hmm...but it might be cheaper to do the tail chop and buy a mud-coloured jacket? :D

Yay...another keeper. I wonder how many others there are in the club.
The brilliant thing about a keeper is that any money spent on upgrades can be offset over the next few decades of ownership, so it all becomes as cheap as chips.

Cutting off your tea tray is like docking doggies tails ... tis gross cruelty :)

replace it with a lovely carbon original shape one with a nice carbon mud guard to. Looks great on mine and i don't get wet.

Must admit that my tea tray is staying.
I quite like the curvy ones anyway, and I don't like getting wet if I don't have to.
I do drink an awful lot of tea, too.

I have one with and one without

if you dont ride in the wet I guess its your choice but I wouldnt chop the one off the S4r - you can put sandwiches on it too

Yyyy I got 4 holes on my one? I was under impression that it is length and holespacing that is not the same not 3 or 4 holes?

I do ride in the rain if I need to commute or something. Maybe another option could be those painted ones you get, red with white stripe???

the three hole fixing sometimes means you have to drill a hole in the cross piece between the frame

Azhar, I based my work on this video, which was really helpful, and used all the tools, they did.
Paid maybe £20 for all max.

I quite like my teatray; it's very handy to put my specs on when faffing about with the lid. Have only used it as a teatray a couple of times, and it's pretty handy for that, too.

Don't worry I just ended up cleaning bits of it :chuckle:

Still not sure what to do as usual but I might just go for the short tail instead of the chop. I think if I had the exbox I would definitely chop but with my Termis I think the short tail would look better

Another option

http://www.barracudamoto.it/it/shop/tegolino-abs-nero-opaco-per-tutti-i-modelli/

They do one with an LED tail light too
