Hi folks
Has anybody used the forks off a 999 on a Monster? I have used them along with the rear shock and am having trouble with the suspension being way too hard. Anybody got any idea what springs to fit? The 999 is a 200kg bike dry and have just weighed mine and it is 180 with a full gang of juice so think I need to do something otherwise it will be back to the dentist to have my fillings put back in.

I am not advertising anyone however.

Call David at solocorse www.solocorse.co.uk. Ignore how website looks. He knows lots about bikes, suspension and is a Ducati freak. Many DD guys will know him.

He sells wilbers springs which make huge, huge change to how bike handles. He will be able to help you out. However he is going to Ozzy land on 26th so I would think Monday is last time to call.

I thing Oz fitted 999 forks to his 696

I had the same problem when I fitted 996 forks on my monster - needed lighter springs

All the Ducati 'superbikes' have very hard springs in the forks, often too hard for the bike they're fitted to especially for a light rider, so almost certainly will need re-springing for a 20kg lighter bike.

I have 916 forks for my Monster which have been revalved & 'softened' to 0.95kg/nm springs, although that still maybe too hard? Originally though they were 1.0kg/nm, which is probably the same as a 999.

I'd recommend taking them to Ktech. http://www.k-tech.uk.com/
