Hope yer aims better than yer batsmen in the recent one days!;)
Joking apart , good to see some one prepared to fly the flag celebrating nationality, not nearly enough in my opinion.
Us Scots are pretty good at it though , even with arrows out our ars$s (Braveheart , Bannock burn 1314 in case you forgot):drunk:
Have a good day Yorkie and be careful with your knocking:mand: .

Pete cheers mate, the BBQ is being lit at 1500, and the drink is flowing already, so looks like a bit of charcoal on the outside and raw in the middle!!

This is the Longbow of modern choice:

Or in keeping with the arrow theme:

You are right about the support for today it is rather embarrassing, we (The English) should rightly have more flag waving pride.

Yorkie, you were originally far enough North to be a borderline jock :mand:

GT,

You are far enough South to be French, my friend.

Hope you are having a good day, oh and it is very sunny up North. (String vest and rolled up trousers)

Wasn't St. Patrick a tee-total Brit? Don't see you pointing that one out when its Paddy's day. Let us have our day, will you! Anyway, we get to celebrate it all over again because St. George's has been moved to the 2nd of May this year. Today is Holy Saturday.

Happy St. George's day!

PS. That little red dragon on a green and white background has only been a welsh flag since the 70s. You ought to be flying the cross of St. George seeing as Wales is also represented by it since the act of union in the mid-sixteenth century. You're what's known as a conquered nation, dear boy. Edward I in fact.

Act of the union 1707 to unite the crowns of Scotland and England also known of union of the parliaments, seemed to work fine till the little gay Italians (Bonnie prince Charlie) dad took issue in 1715 , dont think Wales or Ireland had a lot of say in1707!!
St Patrick, son of a Roman tax collector Im lead to believe , spent most of his childhood in a place called Beneventium, which is supposedly the modern day Banavie, which funnily enough is where I stay. Hasten to add this is the modern theory and not as reported in history books:) Did a damn good job with the snakes tho.

Only needs to be mentioned once. Because the French know its fact!

This is the original usage, i was talking about a modern take!

But they need reminding from time to time!

I enjoyed St George's day... in Wales! But found a pub called the George and Dragon and had several pints of Spitfire to right the balance!

Was celebrated.. But burning a four poster bed and fogging up a large area of 2 streets and right up in the sky opps .. And having to explain don't need to call the fire brigade!!!
It's that prievil fire thing isn't it!! Men and fires and bbqs .. Add beer and lethal combination!! But St Georges celebrated as every other bugger has a Sts day!!
Why we are shamed into thinking it's bad :(

Celtic blooded way way back with some Dutch ..
But born In Croydonia!
