I ride to work everyday and at the moment i have a cold. Not much fun as i end up with a face full of snot and have to stop to clear off, not a great sight when taking helmet off.
I suppose i could wear an open face to make access easier but a bit worried about wind blowing snot onto car behind !

Just thought i would share my problem with others, i am sure other people have the same trouble.

Cheers

Snotty Alan

A nose clip, from swiming would at least stop it running down your face.

… but then it might travel back up into your brain and cause a haemorrhage... or something.

I sympathize, I get nosebleeds and feeling one of those come on while you're on the road is not pleasant. Nor is removing helmet looking like you been given a dig in the mouth.

Nose clip might work but you probably want to breathe through it! I get a really dry mouth if I ride and breathe through my mouth all the time.

A couple of leak off tubes like the ones on the battery, inserted up your nostrils. You could put them inside your jacket, down your trouser legs and hey presto! You could even fit a catchment tank......... :D

I was going to suggest tubing lik that off a fishtank filter point it sort of going behind you at least it would clean the screen of the car behind :)
Just don't ride behind him!

I reckon if you slash-cut the ends of the tubes and arranged them so that the airflow was across their open ends, you could get some sort of suction/scavenging effect going on.

I used to get bad hayfever, and that made riding interesting. The sneezing sometimes got so violent that it was hard to keep a decent view of the road ahead. On a few occaisions I just had to stop on the approach to bends, as I simply couldn't see them for sneezing.

Sneezing a bit of a problem for me as well.

I once sneezed so violently at a set of traffic lights that it flipped my open visor back down over my face.

The girl on the vesper next to me seemed to find this hilarious. :)

Go to work in the car when you have a cold.

That's just as interesting from someone who snotted on her windscreen!
I've masterd the hold it in sneeze when I need to no snot and not much of a noise!
But when nobody is about I sneeze loudly!
I also get nosebleeds which can be fun not!

If you want to really sneeze vanilla ice snuff!
I went to our local old worldy tavern and they had snuff on the bar for the gentlemen .
I had to try it although they said your not sposed to snort a line of it oops !
Boy did I sneeze and boy did I look stupid with a brown nose and face most of the night as my friend thought it was funny not to tell me !

Try a nasal spray before you ride...they do work

I suffer from sinuitus in 1 nostril...works wonders!

i am not talking a wee bit of snot, i am talking runny nose and eating it !

As for using the car, i do not like queing for Blackwall Tunnel, it takes me 40 mins on bike but would be at least 90 in the car.

Perhaps its natures way of telling you you need more salt in your diet Alan.

You might be able to gain a bit of time if you grew a bushy moustache, but it wouldn't work for long.

Careful everyone – if the puns start en masse it could very well make the forum 'conk' out.

GT - you'd better check for malware now :)

Sneezing and snot is bad.
Coughing is quite bad too.
Not having to go via public transport is still very good.
