Started by dousing both the front and rear brake switches with WD40, but the brake light stayed on.
Then I un plugged both rear and front brake connectors but the brake light stayed on.
Checked all the fuses also, they are fine.
Checked & cleaned the bulb connectors, checked the & cleaned the housing for the rear light, still no joy.

Can only assume there must be a short somewhere on the bike maybe?

wd40 evaporates quickly so its either a short, or one of the switches is stuck

check the bulb - couldn't work it out for ages then found the filaments had fused making the brake light stay on, very rare though so I could be clutching at straws
