As some of you may know I'm restoring a 1979 Suzuki GT50. It came with plenty of work to do and one thing I have to do is a tear in the front seamof the seat cover. I did see a replacement one on ebay and I got it for a £10 but its not quite the right shape or style and I don't like it. I took the other one off and its in reasonable nick but is good enough to copy. It got slight damage when removing it from the hooks so I wont re-use it. I want a resonably priced person recommended by someone to just remake it. I can send it off to anybody.

Thanks

Have you a contact number or name whom you dealt with. I could easily make the new cover fit but the piping design is so different. More like off a triumph bonnie look.

Thanks Thats 2 I can ring. I found also this one

They sell new seat fix spikes as they allways break and 50% of mine have and the rest probably will when refitting.

Hi Albie,
You could have a word with Andrew Leighton. They do custom stuff as well as standard replacements and are well known for the quality of work. They would either make and supply a copy of your cover or make and fit to to your base. They can also powder coat your old base if it's in poor shape.

Well I wont be using GaryT's recommended guys. Wanted just a simple no frills remake in vinyl. Seemed promising and said it was really simple copy. £150 and that dont including fitting . I think NOT. Move on to next one then. Goldsmiths next.

They won't be getting much work from me either at that price mate

May still pop in there in person to get a quote - just for the entertainment value

I popped in there today. Nice little place but way too pricey. I have a sewing machine and really fancy doing it myself for a laugh but doubt if it will do thicker stuff.
Next stop is deffo goldsmiths.

Hmm it may but the one I got said it was meant to fit mine too. I may give it a go for the low price but say if its not right they must refund me. The one I got was not though described as a pattern part. It said to fit a GT50. It was short at the back and had no detail sloping from rear to middle.
Thanks for that. This is a total budget build and as much as I love it is not a AP50 or Fs1e.
