Hi everyone,
Im new to the forum and although not technically an owner I have long dreamt of getting a monster and having passed my test two years ago i am now in a position where i can start looking for my first bike. Im trying to find a 620ie or 695 for a decent price ready for the summer.
I have my heart set on a monster but am a little concerned that i might be too big (6ft4, 15 stone) just wondered if there are any other taller riders out there? And can anyone recommend any adjustments for a more comfortable ride?

Hoping to be a monster owner soon........

Welcome to the club Matt.

Big guys I know in the club are BigOz and Pegboy, both tall guys.
There are changes you can make and I know that BigOz made loads to his bike.

Both the 620 and the 695 aren't tall bikes and at 5ft 10" I fitted the 695 I had perfectly.

I'm 6'2", and have no problem whatsoever on my M750.
Plus, its not a hard job to raise the ride height front and back.

That's very reassuring, getting me more excited! just need to find one at the right price now.

Have a read here, an expensive way to do it, but it shows what can be done.

Yeah I stand in at 6"4. I always had my heart set in the iconic 916 since a child so when I did my licence and started to ride road bikes I brought a monster m600 98 to get use to it and the road They do feel a little small I put the raiser kits on the back suspension the hoop and raise the front and it's great fun. Sometimes on long rides I do get a little cramp in the legs but that's not every time. Now I have a S2R 1000 and although again feels a little small very exciting bike to ride. You will enjoy the bike they are manageable and not uncomfortable at all. I enjoy them soo much not even bothered about the 916 anymore!! I want the 848 ha ha

ha, I rode an 848 at the motorshow last year and it was the most exciting (and a little scary) thing that has ever happened to me.

I think i am gunna try and get a test ride this weekend and if it feels ok i know i can raise it and it will be no problem.

Hi,

Don't forget raising the bike might give ground clearance and makes the bike feel bigger especially at standstill but the seat to peg distance and distance from the seat to bars doesn't change.
Raising the bike also makes the bike transfer more weight between the front and rear when accelerating and braking, so changes to the springing and damping might be beneficial.

I've seen Mohawks bike it is very well cared for and a nice example :)
it would be a way better bet then an eBay bike!

Oh thanks He11cat, you're very kind. Yes I've loved my bike and will be sad to see her go but can't justify keeping her only to get stood up for the S2R.
