Stand for raised M900

Hi,

I have a raised my 93 M900 and now the side stand is too short, so the bike now leans over too much on the stand. Anyone have a longer side stand for sale, or know what will fit and where to get one from.

This or you can get someone to make a longer bracket for you and just move your original one.

It's possibly easier to fit a pad to the end foot to extend the length

I've seen this done with both alloy and steel stands

1993 is steel so it could be welded on.

I have welded a 'foot' onto the bottom of my standard stand but didnt like it (bit ugly), but now I have an ally stand off the sport classic on mine with a modified bracket. You don't *need* to modify the bracket for the stand to actually fit, it will go straight on; but my stand has never sat flat on the floor so I welded it/ machined the correct 'stop' angle and now it sits flat.

You need to use the springs and spring clip as well as the bracket bolt off the sport classic though if you go down this route.

Another option for tubular stands is to cut it in half, and extend it with solid metal bar that fits inside tube before re-welding.

Carry a brick and raise the ground not extend the stand, also useful for those cars that really are peeing you off

Not on my 93 900 it isn't. It has an ally side stand as have every other very early Monster that I've seen.

Yyy my monster frame number is 500 and it has a steel stand that is very early monster. Yet another what is in parts bucket goes.

Stand may have been swapped for a later steel one

My 1995 M600 had alloy stand as well - just like Pedro's 900

I carry an offcut of 2x1 (softwood!) for mine! I did have an alloy block shaped to fit the foot which was fixed with epoxy to see if it worked before drilling and bolting it on. It worked, but fell off somewhere before I got around to it.....

I went for the wooden option as well, limited ground clearance on left handers but never worried about it falling over

Pretty much what it looked like, but it worked for a while! Must try harder next time....
