Ok, so some of you may now I'm a Chef/Partner in a restaurant .
For the last couple of years I also been training as a teacher, so the time has come to fill up a couple of applications form and see what kind of response I would get.
Much to my surprise with the first application I got called for first interview, then the second one and today I've signed the contract! So, I'll be soon working in London as a theory catering tutor for the DeVere Academy (http://www.devereacademy.com/) in their new branch at Devonport House in Greenwich! For the first time in 18 years that I'll be actually looking forward to a weekend..because I'll be OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!
More time for the ride outs!
Now, anyone wants to buy a share in a restaurant? should I put it up in the For Sale section?:mand:

Makes a nice change to hear some good news about people's jobs on this forum, given the current state of the economy.

Here's hoping your now being free for rides out at the weekend doesn't mean it rains every weekend between now and Christmas!

Thanks mate! In pure economics no, I doesn't make sense, also I'm no longer my own boss and all that but..and is a big but..I get the life I never had. I started in kitchen when I was 14, college in the week and part time at the weekend, then after a spell for my national service has been just work work work, so in humanistic terms does make a lot of sense. They say that life starts at 40, and I'm only 32, so I'm still ahead..;)

As you say Max, is all about living.

A mate of mine was an accountant for 21 years and then decided to jack it in to become a teacher. That as you can imagine was a huge drop in money for him. But dosh ain't everything and hes loving the new challenge, as I'm sure you will.

Was so pleased to see you can take leave when you want as feared Milan might be off the cards this year, and I've got to catch up with my 'italy loving mates outside the bar.

Enjoy Max.

Cheers
Stuart

Put this dates on your diary..
EICMA 2011, scheduled to take place from 8th to 13th November
Shall we do something different or stick to the same, boring stuff as last year?

Sadly I won't be able to make EICMA this time - I'll be a little further east than Bologna (India) in the middle of November. For anyone thinking of going, I'd highly recommend it, we had a cracking good time last year. I'm sure more of the same (bike show, lots of good food, drooling over titanium bits etc) would be good.

As I won't be driving the tour bus, you'll miss out on my comedy parking attempts (which is probably for the best).

Well done you, less stress if anything goes wrong with the kitchen someone else will have to sort it and no worrying about the cost or loss of earnings etc and weekends off. Seems like a win win. Hope all goes well.
