My faithful Optimate III has started to play up - can't complain as I've had it for donkey's years and has been used a lot (5 bikes, 3 quads, 2 lawn tractors and 3 cars at any one time).

I recall that most recommend either the Optimate 4 or the CTEK 3600.

I remember that the CTEK had the advantage of possibly charging a flat battery where the Optimate didn't.

Not much in it price wise - both around £50 including delivery to me in Froggy land (too expensive to buy here for some reason).

Just wanted to check that the CTEK 3600 is still the one to go for and hasn't been superseded by a newer model??

Thanks in advance.

The display on the Mk4 is baffling, I'd go for the CTEK which is the better product

I've got a XS3600. I read somewhere that it has been replaced but just had a look at the web site and it is still showing as a current model. I've got an Optimate and the CTEK, and would only buy CTEK in future.

Thanks guys - advice appreciated (as always) - found one in Froggy land for 60€ including delivery - seems to be the best price I can find.
