i have found a a part that comes from a 2008 multstarda 1100s
i want to use on my 800, it looks identical and according to the parts catalogues it has an identical part code apart from 1 letter at the end of the code
it this likely to be the same part? maybe a differnet colour?
any help appreciated
ali
What is the part?
You can always phone a dealer and they will tell you if they're interchangeable...

its the right side engine casing /wet clutch cover multi1100S Part 243.2.028.5AE
in the s2r catablogue its 243.2.028.5AC
guessed that a dealer would not be so keen to tell me compatibiity seeing as im not likey to buy from them
any one else know if this will fit for sure

As far as I can remember the letters at the end are for the colour BUT if you can wait until tomorrow I can phone work and ask or if you can wait until Thursday I'll check it myself when I go in

Your ...AC number can be for a GT1000 '07 as well as S2R800. Better wait for a trusted confirmation.

found this link (http://www.store.commoto.com/product_info.php?products_id=29233) for the dp magnesium wet clutch cover
as this is the same part, interestingly it implies that all these bikes use compatible size wet clutch cover (i know 848 and 796 look different costmetically)
Hypermotard: 796
Monster: 620/695/696/696ABS/750/800/S2R800 (all 2002+)
Multistrada: 620/dark/1100/1100S
SportClassic: GT1000/Sport 1000 Biposto/Sport 1000S
SportTouring: ST3/ABS/ST4
Superbike: 848
Supersport: 620/750/800
mentioned it as it might be useful to others seeking replacement clutch covers for any of these bikes
have read the 600-750 2000-2002 should also fit
be useful to know for sure tho

OK so I rang the dude at work and the main man wasn't in BUT the person I spoke to said the same as me and reckons that it's most likely a colour difference however there is no way he can tell if it will fit using the system. If you can wait until tomorrow I should be a able to get a better answer from the main guy
Hope it helps some how!
I doubt its anything to do with colour, i've seen different suffixes for parts that have no colour e.g. a bolt.

I'll watch this with some interest as I'll consider looking around for a standard wet clutch cover for my DS1000 engined SC with the intention of converting it to a windowed cover in the future and a range of options is always better than one or two more specific ones when searching.

For once I was right! I spoke to the guy in charge of parts and he's said yes it will fit, the letters at the end just indicate different colours
Hope it helps!
