It is still very much a test fitment still. You will see that as on 3rd picture light is held with cable ties. I need brackets for that and fork clamps. Brackets will go to fork clamps and that is it. Another set of fork clamps will be needed for indicators. Any idea where I can get fork clamps?

If I was fitting that light I'd make up a bracket that was sandwiched between the U bracket mount and the lower Yoke.

Fork brackets will look messy and spoil the clean lines.

Get a cereal packet and a pair of scissors, cut out the shape you need, buy a sheet of ally, draw round it, cut out with a pair of gilbows (cheap on ebay) bend using vice.

May take a few attempts but ally is cheap and the end product will be a lot nicer plus you get the added smug factor of knowing you made it yourself.

Edit: MOT requires that a headlight be adjustable for height/angle so dont forget to add some slots to the bracket or your'll be well upset when it fails.

Hmm that sounds like a good idea.

Where can I get a sheet of alloy, I am in London so online would be best?

I bought fork mount brackets and to be honest they looked a bit messy. I don't know any places but type sheet metal in google and loads come up

B+Q have loads of sheets of different metals and sizes. Failing that, find a local sheet metal workers unit on yell.

I've bought materials online (ebay) but B&Q or local builders merchants often suffice

If you are going to use alloy sheet I would advise going for at least 3mm. Thinner stuff could flex due to road shocks and vibration, and eventually snap due to metal fatigue. If using mild sheet steel or strip + painting, then 2mm should be ok

You can actually reverse the headlamp brackets on the inside of the hoop, which forces the ends in towards the middle. I did this on the trike when I fitted a set of twin lamps on a fabricated hanger. It worked pretty well and could offer a neater option to fit this headlamp unit. Went back to stock set-up in the end - twins were crap on lanes in the dark.

I was actually trying for a triumph (speed triple) effect, but needed larger bates style lamps mounted higher up

May give it another go eventually
