hey everyone, great site, what an amazing resource. i just bought my first ducati, a 99 monster 900 dark. Having loads of fun but i'm sure ive already seriously pissed off my jersey neighbours... the bike came with a set of unlabeled mystery mufflers, no identifying marks or numbers on them anywhere. no baffles either. while i absolutely love the sound, i think it's only a matter of time before i get pulled over and hassled, which i'd love to avoid. so, short of spending serious cash on a new set of street legal mufflers, i was thinking i could buy or create a set of baffles to quiet these down a bit. anyone have any advice? a good start would be at least to identify the brand or model, so i attached a few pics. maybe i could order a set of baffles and just rivet them in? if so, from where? the bike's also got a k &N airfilter and feels like its been tuned a bit...is taming the exhaust down gonna mean i need to rejet carbs and retune all over again?

set off a few car alarms in a garage today. at 2,000 rpm. :on:

They look a bit unknown. TBH there are a lot out there of manufacturors who knock cans up. If the were termis or sils or main competitor they would be stamped etched in the stainless. Just go on ebay and look at exhausts/ baffles and they do sell various decible killers or you can get custom made. Looking around 50 mm then but needs a slight angle slope down.

They look kinda generic CF sleeved beasties, probably internally not significantly different from branded.
I had some arrows which looked the same just with badges and I rememberan arrow logo embossed on the end caps.
If they give you a headache put in some decibel killers

great, sounds like the decibel killer option seems doable on the cheap. i was worried i'd have to know which brand the pipes are in order to find the correct baffle, but seems like sizing it'll work out well enough. then you just drill a hole and bolt em in?

thanks for all your help guys.
