Hi

I passed my big bike test at the end of last year and I am busy saving for my first bike. It has to be a Monster 695 but the black with red frame. There are a few of the red colourways about but I am a fussy mare and only want the black :p Looking at getting it just before the beg of April ready for the biking season.

Please keep me in mind if you are thinking of selling or knows someone that is in the next few months.

Cheers

Congrats on passing your test!

You've got an excellent taste in wanting a 695, it's a fabulous bike, I love mine to bits. Mine's a fully red one and you can't have it! :p

Hope you'll find your red & black one soon.

Just gave them a call and its still available! It was my first bike when I started biking again and I agree, brilliant colour scheme and it was a great bike to start back on, kinda wish I'd never sold mine!

Ah bless you for ringing them! nice......would have to save a few more pounds first but that's the sort of price I am looking at and then if I find anything cheaper it's a bonus.

Did see the one on ebay but wasn't keen....think it was just because it said it had been damaged previously...told you I was fussy ;)

Thanks for all you help. I have emailed Riders in Bristol to contact me if they get one in.

Have to admit that I would prefer to buy a dealer backed bike as first choice and I understand they do a finance package!

I'd always stay away from crash bikes no matter the history as I don't have enough experience of what to look for.

iI'd haggle, that price is too high for an outdated model, superceeded by the 696 and the 796, which are both better, lighter, easier bikes.

The 695 is prettier, though. I, for example, would never have bought the 696 because I don't like the look of it.

The dealer's 695 is low mileage, one owner and FSH, but even with that, it's four years old, so I'd haggle to about £3,200, doubt they'd drop it any more than that. I'd be interested in buying the Ventura rack off you, btw... ;)

Agreed, the 695 is prettier, I had one too as my first bike.

Saw this one today in Speed Bikes in Exeter - red tank but VERY tidy looking bike on an 07 plate.

Paivi, I agree the 696 just doesn't do it for me! The 695 black & red colour way is the rarest of the colours and although they do come up now & again.....not that often. The ones that I have seen on MCN & Autotrader are around £2,800 for 06-07 plates. I am only half way through saving......what with Xmas and loads of family birthdays, Oh plus the general high cost of living, I won't be ready to buy around the end of March/April but thanks for looking out for me guys :)

Hi

I just spent the afternoon down at the MCN bike show at excel and you'll be pleased to know I saw a 695 black with red frame, just over 4 grand, I forget the dealer who it was but there was only one or two used dealers there so wouldn't be too difficult to track down who has it.

Maybe it was brand new for that price? :spin:
