Just asking and no rush but Im after a 50cc legal road going learner bike. Preferably tall like trials or maybe Gilera DNA or last resort scooter. Condition to be fair as limited budget but have time to sort before september. Dont mind basket cases as long as I know whats required. It will give Aidan something to learn on to do up as part of the deal.

Thanks for looking

How would a Suzuki X1 sound from about 1985? I have a mate with one in his Dads shed, it's been there for years! It would be a project but is all there.

A learner bike with gears would be better than a twist and go

Manual gearchange gives you the full licence for both once test is passed

Gary, the X1 was a geared bike if you were referring to that one? It turns out to be a full power unrestricted moped, a GT50. :D Just trying to convince him to part with it for Albie now.

Thanks for all the heads up guys. Some nice bikes there but am on a budget and have now found something that although needs a good clean up and some money spent, will do the job nicely.I have 8 months so thats ok.

Bargain of the year Albie, I just won't be able to resist getting it running and cleaning it before you pick it up though! :D

Your a star mate.
Here's what he found me. He got offered it himself last year so no remorse from me LOL

I have just ordered the rear shocks. Just £37.88 a pair delivered.
PS rally does that fuel tap bolt on with say 2 m6 bolts as cant see one with a single big thread.

Oh and it will be earlyish Saturday morning now 10ish ok

It isn't as big a project as you 1st think, all the chrome bar the handlebars are covered in oil and grease! The engine turns over as well.

The fuel tap is not the two bolt fixing type, it has a male thread coming off the botton of the tank, about a M14 fine thread. My FS1E was the same.

Saturday morning is fine Albie, see you then. :D

Well a postman delivered a parcel today sent to me by Rollo after he generously picked up this rare mint Micron for my project moped. I just had to see if it fits as its a Suzuki GP100/125 one. It seems to be ok and even if I have to make a new down pipe it will be fine. Looks so much better than the rust and hammered one that was on there.
Bike coming along now and waiting for wheels and may I say thanks to PCFDAZ who has offered me a load of free spares.:bunny::bunny::bunny:
Its almost reassembly time and then the Paint Job of Heron Suzuki

You can look anytime on my blog to check on progress.

The colourscheme will be this. Shame it wont be as good looking or as fast.

The peds coming on. That exhaust is no more. It fitted but didn't fit. I was gutted especially all the effort Rollo went to to pick up and post. The good news is I sold it on for the same price to a local guy of the fs1e.co.uk club I joined. I also bagged the right size for £40 less today but dont think its as shiney as that one and it needs a new decal too. But the ped is almost there to be able to start her up. Engines painted and new top end. I have a brand new tank so no cost to respray and a spare now to paint. I have 3 exhausts. The one on the pic GT modified with me will be used for Aidan if he uses it. It will have a fresh coat of black paint but it only cost me £17 on the ebay.
Wheels need a paint as well and we are nearly there when I get a fuel tap.
