You cant go far wrong with this stuff - think most people would agree. Yes its pricey but you get what you pay for

Have you looked at the DP Bag?

I used one 2 up to Ireland and Misano last year with Ventura kit on the rear.
Works well both on the 696 and the 1100.
Use the rubber webbing underneath to protect the panels.
It has a hand expanding feature and should have enough room for your needs.

Never had a problem with the R-25 scratching your tank? Actually, I'm considering the R-20, just because it looks less prone to tank scratching (for a 749).

no problem with the R-25 as I use it on my back and not on the tank!!

just bought a tail pack for my 696 off ebay secondhand.fits great on the rear of the seat.its held on by the 2 screws which hold the pillion cover onto the seat, although i have been told to wrap your things up in plastic bags as its not 100% waterproof,i will be useing mine in may when we go to the moto gp at le mans, happy hunting.

defo with the kriega bags, I'm also going to get some for trip to le mans, only downside to some of the kriega stuff is that they arent particularly water proof, but they dont claim to be. top quality kit!!

I use a famsa tank bag on my 900ie.

Providing you just take essentials it's great, and as I take a pillion, carrying a bag on my shoulders is not an option.

I've toured two-up no problems

Yep I have one of these and its GREAT. I used mine last year to go to MotoGP in Le Mans! Yes, do wrap your clothes or anything you want to stay dry in bin liners as it's not waterproof even with the elasticated waterproof cover fitted which usually splits when you fit it for the first time - really anonying but you can invisibly repair it if you gaffer tape it from the inside.

It's a great bit of kit and just about big enough for 5/6 days away as 'T' shirts fold really flat. Even the side pockets are more useful than they look.

The only problem (which isn't one really) is that you can't use a rucksack / backback at the same time as it clashes. Not a problem for me as I bought the tailpack to save using a backpack. I like the way you can just unzip it from its base to take it into your hotel.

MBK - did you get the 2 black plastic washers with it that secure it to the seat as you bought it second hand?
