my tank has developed a leak... its coming from the base of the plastic threaded sender unit for the fuel gauge...
without stripping it down i havent worked out what it is yet.. any one got any idea wether its going to be a seal of a new unit (just bracing myself) and if anyone has a part they may wish to sell.....
There is a green O ring in there. The aluminium nut is better as the plastic ones can split if over tightened
I had the same problem and split the plastic nut like Capo said.
Got one of these aluminium replacements..

Cost about $40 with postage which is a damn sight cheaper than a new sender!

its been fine.. then all of a sudden leaking.. you think that o ring is perished? in theory i can just replace that for now..... anyone know if you can buy it seperate?
Didn't replace it, but I'd check to see if it's split/perished.

Have you squeezed the nut up a bit , vibration could have backed it off slightly. The plastic nuts do crack quite easily if you over tighten them , so its a case of be firm , but no brute force.
The O ring is pennies from Ducati
