Sorry to all of you who have clicked this thinking its something else ;)

but this is the most useful mod i have done to my bike :) as i have said before i run blood in surrey and south london for Serv :D for this i required a large rack and i mean LARGE! Started life as a cheap rack from ebay.... welded many additional pieces of metal onto it and strengthened the lot

Re: large racks

This also manages a big load.. both mine and Skank's gear on run to Misano in fact. That lot must have tipped the scales at close to 100lb, and amazingly the trike didn't notice the extra baggage on the mad chase down into Dijon. I made this from a used Quad bike rack I got on ebay, and welded extra brackets, and box section supports to it. It's held on by just 4 bolts and removable in about 5 minutes.

Follows the shape of the monster seat too, allowing lots of room for passengers, plus the end hoops act as useful grab handles, giving them something solid to hang on to.

Oooo not sure if that large flat plate of metal is a safety issue and maybe fall foul of some safety laws ? I can see the corners are well rounded but it still may be a isssue.

in some countries it would be illegal and seen as a dangerous fixture or fitting

its a shame we do not have usefull leglislation like that in the uk, it makes an excellent defence for removing large number plates and fitting smaller plates less likely to cause injury in the event of an accident
