Hi having just bought a '95 M900 I was wondering what sort of distance I should be looking to get per tank? I understand it is an 18 litre tank with a 4 litre reserve so I guess I am looking to find out roughly how far from full to reserve etc. Also how accurate is the low fuel light? I realise we all ride differently but if I am just riding around not hooning it should I be looking to find the next garage when I hit say 120 miles????

I reckon to get 150 miles from my S4 and up to 170 on my M750

Crap, can only get 120 tops on my m750. Orange light turns on after that so never risked it.

As the fuel light on my 900 has a mind of it's own - I usually aim for pit stops every 120 mies or so. The 18 litre quoted is inclusive of the reserve........

My old M900 stage 3 would go 130 to a tank, hooning it

100 in town, way less (variable) when having fun.

I get about 75 in town before the light starts a flickering on mine.

A lot of big variations here ......makes the thread irrelevant

Ha ha ha ha....Light came on after 58 miles on my S4RS the other day! Went to fill up and had used 10 litres. Although on a good run I can get 130 before the light comes on. Happy days!

yesterday i got 195 miles out of my S4 it was on reserve for 45 miles plus a lot of prayers as I was in the middle of nowhere in Laos and then i had to put 91 octane fuel in as thats all was available. the bike ran ok up to 70 mph on 91 it seemed a bit flat but usable

today with a nice tank of 95 octane on a Thai motorway i went 160 miles at a constant 90mph + cruise with 15 of that on reserve before filling up again

Since the lovely petrol leak has been cured on the old beasty, I'm getting around 120-130 miles out of a full tank. I've given up with the fuel light as that comes on when the tank is full!!!
