View Full Version : M1100,796,696 body parts wanted!

Hi i want to do a custom paint job on my M1100 but not paint over my original's.
I've managed to find both sides of the tank in red so know i am looking for the
fairing and seat cover.
They do not have to be in A1 condition as they will be being painted, scratches and
damaged paint surfaces are ok.
Any colour will do as it's going to be painted.I am willing to pay sensible money for
these items.

keep looking on ebay,i have bought panels for my 696 off there at good prices.i too are haveing these custom painted good luck

Yes cheers, i've just been on the bay of E but found nothing. Just a question what are you think of doing to your monster?
Also another question has anybody brought some of that german carbon fibre, whats the
finnish like is it the real stuff?

The german stuff is very good. Avoid the asian, chinese stuff ans the weave is allsorts and you wont get a good match and there are doubts to whether carbon fibre too.

There are carbon fibre tank panels available from UK by the name of Oily fingers whom I have brought stuff off before. Two tank planels new for around £150.
I have spent 2/3 rds that on the ebay for slightly damaged ones and then had respray on top.
I have expensive Italian carbonvanni ones on mine who make dp stuff but they were secondhand as new and refuse to paint them or part paint as I had a design scheme for paint and carbon.
Its a shame no one makes cheap fibre glass ones to play with.

hi i am still running ideas around my head at the moment but i think i will go for the italian flag colour scheme

I did a take on tricolor but wasn't entirely happy. Still have the panels but maybe for another scheme.And the originals and all full sets. PS they are not always found on ebay under specific bike titles but under seats and fairings which can sometimes missed but to my advantage.

cheers, i was wondering about the finnish.I think i will have to keep trawling the bay of E for the moment.Something else i would like to ask is do you in form the D.V.L.A of the colour change doe's it matter.

Now thats a question. Never ever pulled for anything so I hope I ride sensibly but had a answer ready as the overall percentage of White was greater by 25% and I could put old panels back on. Now the thing is they are now carbon which is a material and not a colour. I think I want to change log book to Custom in case but I was going to get a carbon set of panels and get the cheeks done in the pearl white to match the mono seat with a red pin stripe.
Do not want to annoy plod
