Not sure what you call these but need help in acquiring something to fill/blank off the holes for the mirrors.

Opted for bar end style Mirrors and want to purchase something to neaten up the current threaded Mirror holes.

Thanks Pips.

I've used some simple slotted bolts for that, looks neat enough, if you want to be flash get some anodized one from either your local bike spares shop or if you feel rich go to http://www.tastynuts.com/

Turn the mirror mounts up-side down so as the holes face downward...

Easy fix...:hail:

Are they 5/16" thread Pomp?

They are metric fine threaded. M10 on some, M12 on others dependant on bike and age I expect.

Isn't the LH one a LH thread?

The right hand one is a left handed thread. Well spotted there!

Can't remember why I didn't turn mine upside down. Maybe it interfered with wiring or something..maybe not.
In the meantime I bunged the holes up with blu-tac, and neatly fashioned it into a shallow dome at the top. After a while it got oily-fingered and achieved a subtle camouflage.
One is definitely left-hand thread. I think I have a pair same as yours upstairs that I could measure, but left hand probably means silly price for a threaded bung.
I was waiting 'til I came across the right push-fit, black, rubber whatsit from a hardware outlet, or off the bottom of a kettle, or something. (I'm assuming we're all scavenger/hoarders of such things, yes ?).
Maybe some hard, tap-in bungs could be turned from a suitable bit of black nylon or somesuch, but one hasn't yet come my way.
The blu-tac is very effectine at keeping things dry, and is long lasting (2yrs and counting). It also has a certain 'shed chic' which I have grown to appreciate.
And one day it's gonna come in VERY handy for something.

I think I have a pair of half clamps that have no mirror holes, they are from Brembo RCS levers.

This is what I do with most of the unsightly holes on my Ducatis, turn up the plug with a short ( 20 mm or so ) spigot. No threads, just a plain spigot, with maybe a groove in it if you like, but not neccessary really. Put a couple of turns of PTFE tape around the spigot , and just shove it in the hole. I usually put enough turns of tape on to make it a pretty tight push fit, bearing in mind that you might want to push it back out at some stage. You can get black plastic plugs that push in the threaded holes

I've seen them on ebay for bikes like the 900SS where the mirror holes are redundant

or bar clamps of a 600ss will fit (with no mirror holes) - quite cheap too if I remember rightly!

attack the clamp with a hacksaw and file and remove the threaded boss altogether

can of spray paint to clean it up and nobody would ever notice

ebay usually yields a ready supply of replacement parts
