Hi all I am looking for a really clean S4R With the 998 engine, I would prefer a red low mileage bike obviously cant expect everything so will consider a high mileage bike if the price is right. Would consider a S4RS but I think the extra cost in buying one of these would probably put me off.

Mobile number is 07979468419

Saw that bike myself a few months back & not the best example I've seen. Picked up a red S4RS the other week but saw a few S4R's while looking. I literally searched for 'S4RS for sale' or 'Used S4RS' EVERY day for three months on google 'til I managed to find mine. Do the same for the bike you're after, sure you'll find something. I know it's not what you want but saw a couple of grey S4R's with good milage if you can make the compromise. Let us know how you get on.

Thanks Hammy, I have also been googling s4r / s4rs every day for around a month now, I'll keep trying. There is a local bike at a dealer to me which seems very nice but completely standard and in grey (which Isnt my favorite colour) the dealer wants 6k its on a 58 plate done approx 5000 miles. If you dont mind have a look on seastarsuperbikes website and tell me what you think.
There is also a black S4RS 06 Plate done approx 7000 miles but seems very expensive at £6995 although it does have termi's and other carbon bits. Do you think its expensive?
I would be interested to know anyones views of these 2 bikes.
Does anyone know these bikes ?

Cheers

That S4R has only done an average of 2675 miles a year, possibly less if registered early in 2006. Not high mileage for any monster in my books. A bike is better ridden than kept as a garage ornament, and many Ducati's don't cope well if left idle for long periods. Batteries, fuel, cambelts and tyres can deteriorate significantly for example.

Hi Kevin

I saw that grey one when I was looking & was a contingency if I'd not found my S4RS. Don't forget to haggle. Mine was up for £7299 & in the end paid £6500 from a dealer for an 08 with 3000 miles on, all standard & near showroom condition.

I spoke to a guy who was selling a white 2006 S4RS with 7500 miles. If I'd not found my red one, this was gonna be the bike for me. He wanted £6500 for standard or £7000 with Termi slip ons, chip, some carbon, paddock stands etc. He wasn't desparate to sell & said he would now wait 'til the spring but I could maybe PM you his number if you're serious. Don't want to dish it out willy nilly, I don't even know the guy.

Cheers
David

To be honest if hes in no hurry to sell at 7k with termis I would be better off dealing with motorapido as buying at that price I get dealer back up as well but If you dont mind giving me his phone no. i'll call to see is its still for sale, you never no there may be room to move in the price.

I saw the black one at MR yesterday. It looked very nice - I didn't have a good look at it, but I will go back tomorrow for a closer inspection f you like - any excuse to spend my free time looking at Ducatis.
In my opinion the black ones look better than the red anyway.

The weather in Winchester is fine - not really much snow left. And MR is only a mile from the M3 so not really much traffic to deal with ( although you will have to avoid the shoppers queueing for their Christmas turkeys at Tesco). Go on - take a look and let us know when you have bought it :D

The Tesco q is horrendous at the moment - MR are open today and tomorrow but then closed till the 4th January........ (if my info is correct)

There's a red S4R at Ducati Uffington, although it's a 2005 version.

You can see it here... http://shop.sycamoreducati.co.uk/pre-owned-motorcycles-14-c.asp

Ask for Andrew

Its white

The owner must have spent so much time keeping it pristene which makes it very diffuct to price. MR have a black bike which I have previosuly mentioned but it is no where near as clean as this and they want 6700 and wont budge any further.
This bike is a privated seller so technically ought to be cheaper but its a far nicer bike in every way .

Its very difficult to know what to do.

Help!

Give some ideas on prices please.

I bought mine approx 1.5 yrs ago, with 1600 miles, one owner, with the same extras for £7800. I've not seen many for sale lately for upto date prices.

I bought mine back in May this year with 3000 miles on it, it's a 2007 bike, was totally mint and standard for £7200. It is a red/white one. :D

Its white (pearl) and its really well looked after, I am so pleased.
I dont know when I'll pick it up as obviously we now have a few holiday days and I dont really want to intrude on the sellers time off. Hopefully I'll get it towards the end of next week.
