My bike is in the garage for the winter with no mains to plug a trickle charger into. It is alarmed with a meta 3 and I am wondering how long i can leave it before the battery goes flat? I am currently starting it up every 2 weeks and letting it run for 30mins. Is this enough to totally re-charge the battery or do you need to go for a long run?
I know I could disconnect the battery and charge at home but would rather not do this as does it not affect the alarm?
Any advice is welcome.

I've done exactly the same procedure on my 620 couple of years ago and it was fine but I have a brand new battery fitted back ten.
hope that will help.

You could always try a solar powered charger. (assuming your garage has a window). They are popular with camper van owners.

Oi, I've got a solar charger and a van, but I'm not one of the camper ones.
The alternator does not produce sufficient power until the engine speed is over 3K
