Now, from what I read, Chris Yeatman is going to cook breakfast the day after? (at Rally's)? We'll pm you with our orders..................:running:

Thought Crimbo jumpers were handed out as pressies on 25th - so anyone wearing one would be guilty of fashion crimes as they've actually kept the jumpers they got last Crimbo (never heard of eBay??) :ymca:

Just checked -

The Saab doesn't have a taxi sign on the doors or light on the top.
There is no tissue box on the parcel shelf.
No pine air freshener hanging from rear view mirror.
I have a fairly good sense of direction so therefor don't qualify as a taxi / mini cab driver!!
Don't do airport runs (hang about, scrub that one)

"No booking no ride" doesn't apply here methinks...........

Just had word from Gary and Albie on the M25, a major incident has closed the motorway both ways somewhere between the A21 junction and Clackets Lane Services. After being held for half an hour in stationary traffic, the police have told everyone to turn their cars around and go the wrong way back up the motorway. I think it's fair to say that's going to be shut for a quite a while and have a big knock on effect in the surrounding area. So if you're thinking of going that way - Don't!

Unfortunately this means neither of them are going to make it to the lunch and those waiting for calendars may have to wait a bit longer. Apologies all round but fair play to them for giving it a go.

Me and Jim are back at my home safe and on a liquid diet for tea, whilst putting the world to rights and laughing alot. It's going to be a long night. :booze: :D

Lovely to see everyone again, and very glad we came in the car.

Andy & I got back ok, although we followed someone in an Audi TT back along the A303 who was driving as if he'd had a whole bottle of the evil yellow stuff (as well as having failed to clear the 3" of snow from the rear windscreen). We daren't overtake as we were even less sure than him of what lane he'd end up in!

Will stick to the HSB and home brew myself - the L word was everything I feared (distilled lemon curd mixed with equal parts screenwash and rough grappa). I expect Jim will post the photographic proof of my reaction in due course.

A good lunch and great company as usual! Thank goodness I was driving so didn't have to drink any Limoncello!

A shame for those unable to make it due to the weather but better to stay where you are than risk the long drive.

Thanks Stu for organising the Christmas Beano again.

Look forward to seeing everyone safe and sound next year - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Ah that's better, nothing like an afternoon nap after beer and Limoncello.

Another unqualified success for the Hants/Wilts branch and a real shame the weather thinned us out a bit.
There's a small drop of L left if anyone's passing please stop by and drink it!
Apologies to Gordon and Stu for not bringing some rough shag for their new receptacles.

Today I will be mainly eating a christmas lunch of cheese on toast

Yours miserably - an ever so slightly pissed off GT :grump:

On the plus side I did get a short ride in the back of a sexy red Mito

Well thanks GT as for sure the MiTo is very nice indeed:D:D The car was so looking forward to the journey and we were so looking forward to making it. Got u early and cleared the snow and a shovel and calendars in boot. Getting to GaryT was the worst bit other than my estate and Motorways were clear and driveable until we came to a stop at 9.15 before Clacketts due to obviously someone making an error and causing a tanker carrying lpg gas to overturn at around 9.05 closing both sides until 4.30 this afternoon.

We sat there for around 45 minutes and then we all were made to turn around and go back up towards Orpington again. I was going to turn around to go back around to A25 but traffic was being stopped at roundabout not allowing on to m25. Other than going back through London or long way round I decided to quit relunctantly but all afternoon I wondered if I would have got there. Anyhow we did some shopping instead but missed out on a good lunch. I have sent majority of calendars to Martin who is seeing most of you but will post all others asap.
SORRY is the only words I have.
SORRY to not have made it
SORRY I have had to post your calendars late but at least you get before NEW YEAR

Happy Xmas Guys and Girls

ALBIE and CAROLINE and a passenger GT

xx

Did I say Sorry enough :(:(:D

Thanks guys (Stu in particular for organising) for a great Xmas meal - nice to see you all and glad everyone seems to have got back in one piece, despite the imbibing of lemon flavour screenwash!! Looks like there's a lot more snow headed our way so I guess it wasn't too bad timing all considered. Better get some snow chains.

Have a great Xmas everyone. Jerry & Nicky

Ok, back up North now... really not sure which drive was the most dangerous, Saturday or this morning!

AND I'm still looking at another journey back down South tomorrow!? I did have to come back up here today though, lots of things to sort out I couldn't have done remotely.

Was great to see you all, huge HUGE thanks to Char and Rally for their hospitality, was good to have a chat to people about the past few weeks of my messed up life!

Thanks to all for the cards, not sure when I'll have chance to post up the pics, but will get to them as soon as I can.

See you all again soon...

An excellent afternoon was had by all.
Thanks to Stu for the organising.

Albie, dont worry about the calendars, the important thing is you and your passengers safety. There is still plenty of time to enjoy the calendar. The whole year in fact.

PM me for any postage costs.

Looking forward to seeing some pictures.
