I did the track days in 2006 and 2007, and I don't think there was another UKMOC one after that. The 2006 one was the first track day I ever did. Was a fantastic day out and met some great people.

I surveyed the 2005 and did the 2006 & 7, I think the first one was 04. Fat Bloke would know for sure.

I LOVED the UKMOC track days.

Why not 2011, then.....?

I've never done a trackday, but I'd be well up for that.
Painfully slow, but smiling.
And Mallory's only just down the road from here.

2004 was the first trackday as it was a year after I'd passed my test. Not sure how many there were in total, but I rode in the first one, and visited two more after that.

I'm pretty sure that the first Mill weekender was 2003.

No there was 3 track days. I remember I took my m900 there. Thinking back I was then single seperated so that was 2004. Was I think another which I didnt attend and then I went with Scrapps and I remember there was a years lay off in between. Im thinking it was 2004/06/ 07 with Walker the stalker there.

That can't be right, as I have photos from 3 track days:

2004 - first track day
2006 - when Chris Walker was there
2007 - I was on the hyper, and Slob had his off.

Were there really only 3? I thought there was also one in 2005.

Yeah there was Saz, that was my first track day!

2004 - I spectated.
2005 - my first track day
2006 - the one I enjoyed the most, ace fun with Emily and Singletrack :)
2007 - fun but I was distracted by a man on a beat up R1 spectating :eyepopping:

Blimey, what a good turnout....!!
On second thoughts, there should be some safety in those kind of numbers. And it seems a few trackday virgins popped their cherries, so I might not stand out too much.
So, anyone fancy 2011 then......?

and in answer to your Q about the 1st monster weekender Albie.......

It was held in 2003 over the last bank hol in May in glorious sunshine all weekend.
I met up with Denis in the late October of 2002 to discuss & sort out the style/way it was going to be & sort out dates etc. This was after all members (at the time) had been messaged & had voted on either a, doing one (were they interested) and b. if so - what location.
It was Lin (aka Phoenix) who mentioned Arrow Mill - and as this was central to many people, this is where we went :)
I got Lin & Denis to sort the rideouts (it WAS their neck of the woods remember)

Had we held it on the majority of members who returned votes only, it could well have been on the south coast instead.
I sorted the 1st 2 years out, then Terry did, then it was handed on to others over the years who have done the org for it, carrying the good works on :)

Unfortunately as I tried to book for the following year when we left in 2003, the end of May 2004 was already taken for a wedding, so we moved to the 1st weekend in May that year. (wet to go, wet to return, dry-ish in the middle for some of the while)

The 1st major rideout was at the end of March in 2002 (I say 'major' - there had been others before this, but this was labelled as the 1st National meet, via the group email list).
Many people met from all over the place, riding in groups - to eventually have a massed gathering at the National Motorcycle Museum, then joining all together for a huge rideout to Stratford, where we had a relax by the river).
4 of us left Woking, made it 7 by the time we had hit the outskirts of Bracknell, then about 23 by the time we got to Beaconsfield by the M40....... then a shed load more from various places by the time we got the the Museum.

Hope this helps?

CK :)

Plenty of trackdays going on for 2011 with a core number of members doing various dates across the year.

And the club is already looking into a specific Monster trackday

I was at the first trackday in 2004. It was a great experience and loads of great people. Think i did another one as well the following year. Not done any for a while now. Got great pics to remind me of a great day.

Didn't the R1 monkey also nearly drop your bike in the paddock when he was goofing around?

What I rember most was the weather, hot sunny days Terry seemed to have some connection with who ever supplies weather.

Mixed track days i.e. non Ducati are just not the same

It's a pity that lack of support killed it off

Can that support be rebuilt though?......My name would definitely be on the list.

possibly having had a brake for a few years there may be rejuvenated interest ,

But and its a big but there's a big difference between 30 people say 'yeah I'm interested' on a forum and 120 people paying up £100 2 months before the due date.

Agreed.
My £100 can go in the kitty now though.
Any more for any more ???

Thats at least two then.....
Dunno what would constitute a viable minimum number, .....how about 100...? ....or would 50 do...?
As I live nearby, I'd be prepared to put some effort into organisation if it looked like a goer.

So....98/48 to go...?
