Whilst faffing about online in my insomniac state as usual I came across this on the bay of evil. scuse tiddy picture Voxan V1000 Roadster

hmm.. not my cuppa (ick the colour is the same as that orrid ER5 I rode) but I shall have a read up as in my bike ignorance not one I have heard of (sorry its true!). She blushes.

So I had a read and a look and hmm made for good bedtime reading and I learnt something about these bikes ( gone into liquidation it seems from what I can gather but I may be wrong ) I will be honest the blue V1000 not doing much for me .

Then after flicking through the other bikes they built I stumbled on this
Voxan Black Magic

Have to say now I could quite take a shine to that :) I find that pleasing on my sleep deprived peepers.

But then I do have odd taste in most things I guess.
I imagine the parts could now be somewhat of an issue but is always sad when a bike company goes under mind.
Well I learnt something new for once night night :)

Not a monster I know and feel free to lob rotten spoils at me , but it caught my eyes when I saw it .. made for a good bedtime flit.

Mind you nobody saw the photo of the whale bike ... I can't find a photo..now that was mental

i remember voxan from when i was doign CBT etc, other bloke on the day asked what i was going to progress onto and i said something exotic like a voxan or something, and he was going into HD ownership as what he wasnted to do

the thing that might have put me off (aside from money at the time) was beign a french motor it was limited to 100 bhp by law, or something like that, which with a bit more experiance im thinking isnt so much of an issue unless you doing bhp figures down the pub.

That was from when the EEC suggested a 100 BHP limit which of course the dozy french took on board while all of the japanese manufacturers responded with 'Ahh yes velly good' then just piled on the power.

The bad news is its French and the good news is yes they've gone into liquidation - have a few around here very much the "enthusiasts/mechanics" bike - sounds alright though even compared to my S4 :D

I just find it quite sad when companys like that vanish :(
I quite like oddball machines and admire the people who make them even if they are not to mosts cuppa tea.
That Black Magic is quite a fine looking bike.

You should try visiting Sammy Miller's Bike Museum to see some of the lesser known but fascinating old bikes. It's fascinating to see the variety of engineering solutions that were tried. There are some real oddballs in there as well as some gems!
