Can any of you talk me through the oil change? The sump bolt, which one? there are two?

If its like my 750...the bolt facing downward is the drain plug...the one facing sideways holds a mesh filter,..clean in petrol every 2nd oil change. Both use metal sealing washers, different sizes. I bought some but successfully reused both old ones in the end. Have a go at loosening the filter cartridge before you start, cold and hot maybe, cos its a bit restricted to shift a tight one.

Those sensible Designers at Ducati redesigned the engine to allow more filter to protude on latest models. Well done DUCATI.:woot:

So why are there two oil sump plugs on my 1100evo?

I recently changed my oil and believe I drained the oil via the correct hole (the smaller one towards the back of the engine just to the left of the middle), where the plug with the swarf magnet goes. But does anybody know what the other one is for or why it's there?
