Ok, chatting today about removing the wadding in my cans, mate said they'll be quieter as the noise can now enter the rear box & get absorbed rather than go straight through (if wadding is tight) sounds plausable but in truth....

Ha ha...your mate must be an acoustical audio professor!!:) I am sure they will be louder. I had a set of cans where the wadding had disintegrated and they were louder...which for me was a good thing...

If you don't have wadding in the cans, the exhaust will sound louder, plus the cans will get very hot.

You don't end up with a can full of noise that didn't get out!

Heat in the cans is a big prob if they are carbon, as it burns very easily...

These are DP titanium, wadding is now out, rivet them back together tomorrow, then fire her up
Wonder how hot :fiery: although in this weather it might be a blessing

the wading absorbs noise in the higher frequencies.

I haven't found my Carbon Termis get hot, even with the decat pipe fitted..they never seem hot enough to burn your hand!! but obviously, I still have some wadding left in there....

The heat is fine, but there's definately a 'cak cak' noise :eyepopping: to go with the thump thump, just need to work out if i like it or not

That's the feeling I'm getting now, it's like laying down next to a gp bike on full chat. Think some wadding is needed...

That would be the higher frequencies

Depends on the cak cak.. if it's like the crows round here then probably not.. wheras the thump if it's like the local quarry blasting is defintely a good one to keep
