do the air scoop fit the S2R frame or do you mean OLD style monsters? Also, are they upper or lower scoops?

I want some if they fit though please...

Steeevvoooo - Sorry they are for the OLD monster carbed models. I didn't know that when I ordered.

Blufoot - No they're not from work this is just something I do on my own

Are these DP parts or pattern?

rac3r
19-10-2010, 05:47 PM
They are pattern parts. I've been comparing a few bits to the DP stuff and in my opinion the DP stuff is quite poor and I'm not just saying that :chuckle:

Oops, didn't read your previous post properly.

I might have a look when cash allows. Do you make them yourself?

You are right some stuff is ok but not that good to command the prices they do. The only thing different in headlight cover is that they emboss DUCATI into it. Bikini fairing is a very good price. I paid £60 for a brand new seconhand ebay bargain that cost the guy £180.

What I found with the DP stuff is the consistency was bad, some parts were OK and others had patches where the weave was so thin that you could see light coming through it! and as you said they can also be expensive. You do get a nice Ducati Performance sticker though :D

I'll vouch for the quality. Had an excellent front mudguard, and would take other pieces from him no question!!

where do the air intakes fit on the old style monster. Mines an M900 can't think where?

rac3r

They fit on the triangle on the frame like here:

They help a lot with vertical cooling.

They definitely look nice, shame it didn't fit mine (even though it's up for sale). Chris's 750 demonstrates where they go perfectly! Thanks

So, these air scoops....
I've been thinking of ditching the carb vent pods on my bike, or painting them, or getting carbon replacements if such things are available.
These look like another possibility that I hadn't considered, and they look like they tidy things up quite nicely...I'm getting tempted.
One question.... do they incorporate any sort of concealed chamber to reattach the carb vent tubes to, or is it a case of relocating or removing them?

ps. Belly pan now fitted....looks great, thanks.

Those pods can be removed if so desired. I believe as not ever done it that theres a site called ducati suite which shows you what to do. Those ducts are just ducts to bring air in around the back. Purely a useful cosmetic part with some purpose whether needed or not.

Edit I cant find it on ducati suite but been mentioned this last few weeks

rac3r, any chance you can get hold of a carbon headlamp bowl (monster)?

Oooh, those air intakes look very tasty, I know they're not strictly necessary but would they fit an S4RS?

Sorry I can't get the bowl, only the shroud for the new monster. I'm afraid they don't fit the S4Rs as it had the newer frame like my bike :grump:
