Anyone here work in insurance?
Need a bit of advice...
My bike got knocked over by an unknown party and fell into another persons scooter and damaged it quite badly (my handle bar went clean through his footplate and made a 2 inch hole in it!). The guy is looking to claim from me but i have no one to claim off so if he is successfull I lose my 3 years no claims.
The repair estimate for his scooter is £500 - my excess is also £500.
Can anyone tell me for certain whether or not I can be held liable as i wasnt with the bike etc and it was parked correctly.
If it looks like it could go 50/50 i'd still rather pay him to maintain my no claims but if it definitely isnt my liablity i'll obviously tell him to speak to my insurers.
