I was getting fed up of riding in rain and then having running problems with water getting past the front cyl coil stick and getting the spark plug wet.
so heres my idea.
using a motocross handle bar grip, as they are soft, cut the big lip of the switch gear end
and slide it over the coil stick.

and as ducati dont do anything, this what i have done for my s4r

I agree its a good idea. I reckon your bike has had a life in all weathers anyhow looking at the paint work and surrounding areas. Have you checked your stick coil for water ingress anyhow. When you took it out prior was it surrounded with moisture and usually if they have wetness the coil starts to expand with rust and crack. Thats what happened on mine. If so swap it for the rear which will loolk like new until you find a replacement. I got 2 for £100 from an st4 . sold one for £100 but they cost £170 each from ducati.

Look also at a fender extender for about £15-20.

Or dont ride in the wet weather

Sorry to hijack the thread but I've just had a go at sorting mine:

Lifted the the rubber base up, cleaned, covered it with ACF50, cover back on then sealed it with amalgamating tape. Should I cover the bit at the top in the same tape or will it be ok?

Hopefully this will work then it's just the clocks to sort out
