Draining Fuel Tank for removal

Hope to get a dent in my tank repaired over the winter, and just want to ask the best way of draining the tank before removing it. I'm assuming with the fuel pump and stuff inside the tank its not just a case of pulling the fuel line off and letting it flow into a container.
Also, when refilling is it just a case of filling the tank and letting the fuel pump do the work.

Any advice welcome, its an 03 620ie

Its difficult to drain it completely, drain what you can from the flow and return hoses, then remove filler cap assembly and pour out the remainder, tube pumps and the like will not get it all out.

Change the filter while your at it.

Yes just refill with enough fuel to cover the pump and your good to go.
