Hi all,
I'm noticing that I'm not the only one who are complaining about the 696 headlight!! Does anyone have any info on better bulbs ect for tem please?? I've seen that you can get ?HRD kits for them but there on an American website and I don't fancy the thought of maybe having to connect to wireing harness :banghead: !! Any info would be much appreciated x

Do you mean HID?
I've read that you should only install HID into a suitable reflector bowl and ours is not suitable.

But I'd appreciate more input on it.

Puts me off riding the bike and night and I never used to be like this.

yea HID loi!! I agree with what you're saying you'd think it would be better because you're not gpoing to go on short journeys on the monster.

Or you revert to a round one like my friend Jans in Belgium. There was also a pair of twin lamps on the ebay last week like projector lamps. Looked good but not a pic on a bike

On HIDS it's not so much they won't fit but more to make them work properly the source of the light has to be in the same position or the reflector doesn't reflect properly.
As for wiring if it's a bike specific kit it'll just plug into the harness.

The kit I fitted as advised earlier in the thread is pretty simple to fit, no wires are cut.
Basically the fitting pulls off the original bulb and the new hid plugs straight into the fitting so easy to reverse or swap to other bike.
The HId type is made by the type of bulb fitted.

HID conversions are illegal as far as I'm aware (at least they are on cars). When you put them in a standard halogen reflector the shape of the light source is wrong and they scatter light everywhere, blinding people and generally looking pretty lame. They need a projector to diffuse the beam a bit.

Anyone tried fitting a streetfighter headlight to a monster?
