At Groombridge today, we were invited to take part in the Italian Car & Bike Day, as part of the Honnington Country Fair, in aid of Kent Air Ambulance.

It's on Sunday, 5 September, from 10am to 5pm.

Honnington Farm
Vauxhall Lane
Southborough
Nr Tunbridge Wells
Kent TN4 0XD

Apart from the bikes & cars, there are loads of activities:
Fun Games Stalls
Funfair
Face painting (free for all children)
Mobile farm experience
Fly by from Kent Air Ambulance
Clay Shoot
Quality local catering
Beer tent
Circus workshop
Hot air balloon launch
Many trade stalls
Xtreme Falconry (because ordinary falconry is for wimps?)
Duck herding
Ferret racing
Climbing wall
Air rifle range (hopefully not too close to the duck herding)
Archery
Go-karting
Timber display

More details once I've had a chance to talk to the organisers.

So, who's in?

I know I am!

I've just spoken to the organisers, and they'd love to have us there. So far, they've got about 60 cars there, so would love to have bikes exceed that number, as they were really impressed with us at Groombridge.

The location is Honnington Lakeside, between Tonbridge & Royal Tunbridge Wells:

http://www.honningtonevents.com/location.htm

The day runs from 10 to 5pm, so how does 11am ride-in sound?

In theory, we need to register beforehand, so the more people that can do that, the better; if you only decide on the day, it's still free, if you're riding in with the group. The entry fee proceeds (£3) per bike, go to a very worthy cause, though, i.e., Kent Air Ambulance, so I'd suggest we pay anyway...

Can people please start putting their names down either here or on Ducatisti, so we can have an idea of the numbers, so they can make sure they reserve big enough an area for us to park; it will be flat grass, again, so same as at Groombridge, so bring your pucks!

In which case, Albie, would you be happy to sort out a meeting place and a ride-in. As some peeps prefer to meet at Oakdene and some at Box, maybe you'd do the Oakdene to Southborough route, and figure out a convenient local place to gather before we all ride into the grounds en-masse?

I hope to make it??
Paivi,

Just a bump to this as I have a feeling kent will be sadly lacking on this. Im still attending if alls well as the weathers meant to be fine.

Paivi I could meet anywhere on the route but it depends where your route is. I wonder if your taking the m25 or a25 from Box hill. I could take you via the countryside roads or the A21 where there are laybys for pick up points.

Cheers

My plan as I haven't seen any others plan is too meet at Nells cafe at 9.30 and then short blatt along A2 to next turn off and ride down through Istead rise, meopham then past the Oakdene cafe. Then go down seven mile lane turn right for Hadlow and through Tonbridge and up to Southborough. All country roads.

I never made it myself, too exhausted to even think about an hour's ride each way. I really need a holiday...

I agree with that but overall it was Ducati's that swamped the rest of the other brands and thats always good. But isn't great being around the other Italian exotica like Benelli, Aprillia ,Laverda , Bimota and Moto Guzzi and lastly Mondial. Oh and Cagiva

My favorite bikes were a Pair of original not kit 600's. These were raced last weekend and are mint. Not a mark on them and beautiful.

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l209/albies4/Southborough/DSCF1675.jpg

and this Benelli sei sounded lovely

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l209/albies4/Southborough/DSCF1677.jpg

this 888 was also mint and just 2500 miles on the clock but was ridden in.
