My personal experience is that I wouldn't recommend a Scottoiler on a bike with a short chain guard.
I am not familiar with the S4s but I have a scottoiler on my monster 696 and it's splatters everywhere including the tyre tread.
This is not bad fitting as my husband also has a Scottoiler on his Honda.
The problem in the short chain guard.
Don't know anything about the s4s or whether you can get a longer chain guard but I wouldn't recommend one on a 696+ from personal experience.

I've had a Scott Oiler on my S4 for 3 years with no probs. and a lovely clean gold Tzubaki chain and gold Renthal sprocket.
The Monster is still for sale by the way.
Apologies for the shameless thread hijack!
Eddie.
