I here the new injection ones are a big improvement. My dad got an original GT continental. The noise that thinks makes it amazing.

That bike looks perfect for summer cursing and enjoying the British country side. (non of this harley rubbish :p)

Hey Didge!

Lovely looking bike! Couple of friends are riding their Enfields around India next week on a High Himalaya Tour.

Saw a couple of the new models and was very tempted to buy one myself.

Yes Dave. Fuel injection/electronic ignition.
It's just like riding a real old bike from years gone by, but with just enough modern technology to make life that little bit easier.

Not much cop on M-ways, (80mph top end), but one doesn't buy a plodding single for M-way use.
It's home is on A & B roads, which I always ride on anyway.

The exhaust sound is lovely, but a little too muted, so that's going to be dealt with at the first service. ;)

I had an old one until last year, they look and sound fantastic, I just hope the front brakes work on the newer models because they're virtually non existent on the older ones and I take it the gears are on the left these days as well?

I agree Gary..........but......

The 'Electra' model has both electric & kick, and I was leaning towards that model.
However, the 'Classic', (which is electric start only), has the single saddle, which I love. it also has nicer looking engine cases, more in keeping with making the bike look 'right' IYSWIM.

Although a single saddle can be fitted to the 'Electra', it's a bit of a faff, and doesn't look as neat because the frame is slightly different.
The difference in frames and fittings, is why the 'Classic' has no kickstart, as it would foul the frame.
Shame, but there ya go. :)

In reply to JP, I've bought the pillion pad, so Jan can come out with me when she wants.
Takes about 8-10 minutes to fit. ;)

I popped in to see didge on thursday and his new bike definately is very nice. Oh I would like a quick go of it :p

Poor old Didge is alas unable to ride it as he appears to have broken his foot due to a stage landing on it and being put in a cast. But both he and Jan are fine.

Look forward to seeing you out on it soon mate with or without pillion. I think the pillion seat will be used a lot though somehow.
