July 24th Calne bike Day

Next Saturday is the Calne Bike Day.
Lots to see, especially bikes, it will be the first year for me so really looking forward to it.

I have duties in the morning so will probably be heading up there after 10.30, so probably be there 12.30-1.00, anyone wishing to meet up there please let me know.
If anyone can suggest a meeting place in the town please post up here, maybe a landmark of some sort and a time?
Afterwards at 4pm there is a bbq at Liz's house who lives in Calne so should be a good day out!

Lets meet up outside the Lansdown Arms Hotel in the centre of town next to the town hall / traffic lights. It is in the heart of the event and the band always plays there as well!

It also has two bars and does a good Coffee!

Lets say from 1pm onwards.

Oh, that'll be me then! Unless you're riding in as a group, it's difficult to suggest anywhere to park up as you just have to find a space anywhere! It's probably best to pm mobile numbers and contact each other when you arrive. The town centre has traffic lights, with the town hall, Barclays, the library and The Lansdowne Strand Hotel (usually with the band outside) on each corner so contact each other and meet somewhere round there? Best time to arrive is probably about 11/12 so no early starts, 4pm onwards for the bbq at mine. Anyone who doesn't know where I am, pm me. Look forward to seeing you on Saturday and hope the weather is good.

What a day! I lost all power just before joining the A303 and feared the worst but managed to limp home (suspect a broken fuel pump now rather than engine seizure). Sorry you guys were left waiting at Stockbridge but I didn't have your numbers. I swapped bikes and headed over to Stockbridge on the Blackbird and then onto Calne, but left Liz's address in the Satnav on the Monster and couldn't get onto the site from my phone. So I've just come back home and missed the bbq =( Sorry Liz. Hope you enjoyed all the bikes and the band. I know some of you made it there because I saw a UKMOC business card on a Monster in the town centre, but didn't spot anyone.

Great social day as usual. Thanks to Liz for arranging a few bikes to visit Calne so we could hotfoot it round the entire town seeing bikes that ranged from 1912 to the obsure to a rat bike from hell with a pink "muppet animal" backpack. Great bbq and company - thanks to one and all and to UK Surfer for the mad ride home - think my clock hovered near the 120 mark for a millisecond on A303!!
