Any suggestions?

The dealer said he'd heard good feedback about Evotech tail tidies.

I have one on mine and the perfect tidy as thats what it does. Its simple, strong, light and well made and at £60 cheaper than the dp one which are awkward and fiddly to fit.

Its all aluminium plate and includes led number plate light.

Heres some pics they sent me when I enquired about one for the 1100s.

Cheers Albie, sweet looking bike.

What size plate do you use? It doesn't look like there's room for a standard one.

Thanks. I got the tail tidy just about a year ago when I got my exhausts from ebay. There was not enough room to run a standard plate in between as it rubbed. That plate is what I call just legal as in it dont take the p155 and no police have ever stopped me. Its an 8" x 6" and is a custom plate from craigs plates. Good also that its black backing so doesn't show oil flick as much from the chain.

I also fitted the tail tidy with one arm basically as one year ago tomorrow I broke my collar bone and was too stubborn to wait. It takes about a good hour but most of that time your taking bits off to put back on to the new unit. You save a lot of unnecessary weight too.

I paid £80 for mine and dont forget the R & G aero crash bungs on your frame and front wheel/forks. They do work trust me.

Please can you let me know where I can buy one? Do you know if they fit/are available for a 696?
Thanks. SB

The evotech tail tidy fits all three 696,796 & 1100 monsters.

Easy to fit, everything is well made, Cathy is very happy with hers.

Evotech have them on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ducati-Monster-696-1100-2009-2010-Evotech-Tail-Tidy-/180572038987?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item2a0aeea74b

On the other hand, I can vouch that the 'official' Ducati Performance ones and a nightmare to fit.

Yes thats where I got mine from. They have a direct link to evotech. Really helpul guys too.

I wanted one but the price varies from dealer to dealer by as much as + £80 from the going rate of £135 if they have them in stock.

I believe I got the best deal from something that is removing something for less money whilst maintaining a clean look.

Anyone want to sell me their standard tail after fitting a tail tidy? I broke mine and want a replacement, and don't want to go down the tail tidy route if I can avoid it!

Haven't looked to see how much the stealer charges for the part yet, so no idea how much to offer :)

Just say I bought the tail tidy from Evotech as well as the crash bungs, the other posts say enough about the quality. Did this by 'phone as opposed to the internet and the guy was really helpful, gave me a discount and posted to Poland for free. Highly recommended.

How much was the tidy, £87 on website?

Albie

Sounds about right. I think I paid £78 plus postage but well worth the money against others and you save about 1kg of weight

I'll get one of these, from those photos it really does improve the back end a LOT.

Yeah ordered up over the phone from Evotech, £80 including postage and a free T Shirt. Very helpful bloke. No idea what's on the T shirt though....oh dear....it might say Harley or something !

Ordered mine over the website on Monday and it arrived yesterday, now I just need a bike to fit it to - 18 days and counting :mand:

No free t-shirt/polishing cloth via the website though

Also just got a 7 x 6" 'show' plate delivered today too...both items will be fitted before the bike hits the road!

Fitted the tail tidy and looks great, only thing is my exhaust valve light warning is staying on. You do have to disconnect the valve cable to get the original unit off but I put it back on straight away and thought I'd done it okay, obviously not. Anyone had same bother? I did rotate it slightly to make it easier to get cable back in, could this be causing problem?
Perhaps if I rotate it back again to 'tighten' it it would sort it?

I cannot recall disconnecting mine tbh.Maybe I did but was lucky:rolleyes::rolleyes: I would just double check you have connected it correctly.
