I was just looking at the servicing costs and the new gen bikes are sooo much cheaper to service!

:grump:

Why is that by the way?

Old gen: Minor service £247 inc VAT

New gen: Minor service £163 inc VAT

No wonder Albie has so much to spend on 'bling' :chuckle:

New materials, better tolerances or just maybe a gimmick to increase sales

Take your pick

Technically more mileage intervals but only if you do a consisatant mileage. I paid £185 for first service 1 year old for warranty( 2900 miles ) which was basically a looky over , so its still expensive.
Try a recommended independant with less overheads if out of warranty

I think Rosso is about the the same for my 620 service and looking at the haynes I think I can do the minor my self as I don't really have £250 spare notes at the moment. Next year it will be at Rosso anyway for the full show inc belts.

The only thing I probably can't do in the minor is 'check cam belts' and 'check valve clearances'

Give Proteam Ducati a ring. He will even pick your bike up and return it for free. The premises is now in Strood Kent and J.P has his bike with him at the moment. Lots on here will vouch for his work and we need guys like him around too.

PM him on Unit18

OK thanks! I'll give them a call tomorrow, I understand what you mean though. If everyone keeps diy'ing it doesn't help the garages.

I'm booked in with Proteam and he said it's about £150 for the minor service which is awesome! and he said he's going to find out how much it is to have my wheels powder coated too :D

Im pleased mate. I hope you told him I recommended you. Wheels are around £35-40 each and AlanC has a mate with a place in Hackney who did all my s4 parts. Armortex I think it was called.

Looking forward to getting it back and thanks for the recommendation
